Execution of first person forced to represent himself in over 100 years paused after doctor can’t find vein

A recent article reports that a Tennessee governor has ordered a stay of execution after a doctor couldn’t find a vein. Tony Carruthers’s lawyers say no evidence ties him to 1994 crimes he was convicted of and he is mentally incompetent.

Mr Carruther’s has been granted a one year stay of execution.
